America Shaped Flag
My America-shaped flag is one of my favorites. It comes in one size, 37 inches by 21 inches approx. I use a grade 1 piece of pine that I get directly from a local lumber mill. I pick only the best rough-cut planks, and I plane them down to about 3/4 of an inch. From there, I connect two pieces using dowels and waterproof glue.
After this, I cut out the country, always trying to be as accurate as possible. I torch it around the edges and through the flag itself to maintain a "distressed" appearance. I then stain it to color and then clear coat it front and back. As with all my flags, I torch the back. All flags come with three support strips that are glued and screwed on the back to deter warping. Also included are heavy-duty D-hooks and adjustable hanging wire. I want you to be as proud as I am of this piece of art, whether you hang it inside or outside.
Standard American Flag
My standard red, white, and blue flag comes in sizes 18inches by 10 inches and 24 inches by 13 inches. I build this flag from grade 1 pine that I get directly from a lumber mill. I can handpick only the best lumber that won't warp, although all lumber warps to some extent, but I can ensure that no matter how long you have the flag, you won't notice.
After I lay out 13 pieces for stripes and union, I torch them to a rich dark and light contrast of wood grain. I then pre-stain and permanently stain it red, white, and blue for the union. I then glue each stripe together with weatherproof glue, screw support strips on the back side. Also, I put in two D-hooks and adjustable hanging wire for hanging.
Police, Fire, Military Lives Matter
My Blue Lives Matter flag and my police, fire, rescue, and military flags are assembled much the same as my standard American flag. On the sixth stripe up from the bottom, the color will be either blue, red, or green. You can also get a combination of the three colors depending on which heroes you wish to honor. They come in either red, white, and blue or a natural stain. Of course, as I said, they are all assembled in the same manner and come in two sizes.
